Resounding Success at Zewatech’s Day: Evaporators and Innovative Solutions for Digestate Treatment
On Friday, February 9, 2024, ZEWATECH gathered professionals from the sector at a unique event held in Sant Bartomeu del Grau, Barcelona, marking a before and after in the management of digestates. The day took place at the charming MAS MONELLS restaurant, where up to 60 experts among technologists, engineers, and operators gathered, all united by a common interest: exploring innovative solutions for the treatment of digestates.
The session kicked off with the illustrative presentations of Elena Meabe, Director of Processes and Applications at BergHOFF Worldwide, and Santi Llauradó, CEO and founder of Zewatech.
Elena highlighted the advantages of BERGHOF’s membrane technologies, while Santi delved into how the industrial evaporators, designed and manufactured by Zewatech, play a crucial role in the effective treatment of digestates. The combination of membranes and Zewatech’s evaporators represents the optimal strategy to treat these by-products efficiently and sustainably.

Visit to the Biogas Plant and Presentation of the MVC TURBOFLASH
A highlight was the visit to the biogas plant owned by Toni Deseuras, where the innovative Zewatech’s MVC TURBOFLASH machine was presented. This system not only demonstrates superior efficiency in the treatment of digestates at a price of 3.4€/m3, but also allows for the separation and revaluation of ammonia, by stripping in the same equipment, a significant step towards sustainability. The MVC TURBOFLASH, the latest advanced evaporator developed by Zewatech, stands out for its unprecedented energy saving in the world of evaporation and a very high concentration effectiveness, offering a comprehensive solution for the treatment of difficult-to-handle waters.

The event continued with a question and answer session, in which Elena Meabe, Santi Llaurado, and Jordi Rodón, Zewatech’s chief engineer, participated. This interaction further enriched the experience, clearing all technical doubts and consolidating the day’s learning.
The day concluded with a delicious lunch prepared by chef Eduard Aliberch and his team at MAS MONELLS, providing an ideal moment for relaxation and networking.
Commitment to Innovation and the Environment
This meeting not only evidenced the effectiveness of integrating technologies for the treatment of digestates, but also reaffirmed Zewatech’s commitment to innovation and the environment. It became clear that, although not all solutions are universal, with the right approach outstanding results can be achieved.
Given the success of the day, at Zewatech we are considering holding a 2.0 Day, thus offering another opportunity for those who could not attend this first meeting.
